[They've had a splendid poetry lesson. Sunny is doing well. It isn't entirely due to Erwin. Sunny isn't sure that he truly believes "the truth will set you free," but it's done something.
[Sunny is terrible. He did something terrible. But when he told Aubrey, she didn't run away. They're alright. Sometimes, he's even happy. And he can speak a little more strongly now.
[Part of that is due to Erwin, however. His teacher is kind, encouraging, patient, and smart. Sunny thinks the world of him - tells everyone about him that he can. And he's far more comfortable hanging out in his kitchen now that they've been doing it a while. He seems to be in an alright mood, despite his ever subdued demeanor.
[As the lesson is wrapping up and they are enjoying there tea, something occurs to him. He looks up at Mr. Erwin.]
Could...I show you something? [He thinks Erwin may like this.]
[In complete honesty, Erwin thinks he may enjoy their poetry lessons more than Sunny does. It's like a mental retreat for him, a chance to imagine himself in a kinder, gentler world, a world where he could have been a teacher and nothing more. A world that didn't need him to mould himself out of steel and determination, a world that needed poets more than warriors. He looks forward to Sunny's visits, and takes the time to choose the poems carefully, levelling up their difficulty as Sunny's speaking improves. He is always gentle and encouraging, but he's also unrelenting in challenging the boy.]
[They haven't gotten to The Jabberwocky yet, but Erwin has grand plans for when Sunny is ready for that beast.]
[They're done with the lesson now, though, and enjoying some tea when Sunny asks him a question. Erwin tilts his head, intrigued. Sunny doesn't usually offer things like this, and it's piqued his interest.]
Yes, of course.
[Burnt Rice strolls into the kitchen and winds herself around Sunny's ankles. Hello, young friend!]
[Burnt Rice makes her entrance at the perfect time! It makes for an excellent segue, and Sunny very nearly smiles, scratching lightly behind her ears. He holds up a finger-- Ah, but...then recalls that time with Erwin is time for speaking out loud.]
I'll be right back. [No pauses or nothin'! He takes a moment to duck into the other room, just out of Erwin's view.
[When he returns...
[He has two black cat ears poking out of his head, and a long, swishy black tail. He bounces on his toes a bit, fiddling with his hands, anxious to know what Erwin thinks. It's pretty cool, right?]
[As Erwin well knows by now, Sunny is not a very expressive person. He tries to be when reading poems, but there's only so many muscles he can move in his face - he just doesn't emote all that much; that being said, Erwin has probably been around him enough now to realize that, even when his smile is small, it's the equivalent to his face brightening up like a beam of light. That's what happens now.
[He nods, taking a few steps forward and incling his head a bit, black ears twitching and swiveling.]
Did you...take a potion too? [He's never asked, he realizes - at least, he doesn't think he has.]

A...real transfurmation...
he can be pretty cute when he wants to be
[Erwin waits when Sunny steps out, a little bewildered but amused at what's going on. Then he comes back, and Erwin bursts into delighted laughter.]
You had a transformation potion! [Whoops!] Excuse me, a transfurmation potion. Can I pet your ears?
